At Rolling Hills Electric Cooperative, one of our goals is to maintain a safe workplace, to ensure that all hazards are eliminated, and to ensure that each of our employees is trained to perform his or her daily duties in the safest manner possible. Sadly, there are times when something goes wrong, and unfortunately, that is the case today. We can confirm that we have experienced a situation with an on-the-job injury.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 AM today while the individual, a Rolling Hills employee, was repairing damage sustained to the system in recent storms. The individual involved is being treated by medical professionals for their injuries.
Out of respect for their privacy, specific names and medical details will not be shared—however, we can report that the incident was NOT a line contact. Please take a moment to wish our team member a swift recovery.
A review of the incident is currently underway to ensure continued workplace safety and to prevent future occurrences. Safety remains the highest priority.
We would like to thank all of the people who responded from the Cloud County Sheriff Department, EMS, first responders, and Renegade Towing & Recovery.
At this time, our office is open for normal operations.
